
Red Lentil Dhal | Quick Indian One-Pot Meal

- 350 g red lentils
- 4 pcs shallots
- 5 cloves garlic
- 3 tbsp coconut oil
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp black cumin spice
- 1 tsp ground ginger spice
- 1 tsp turmeric spice
- 2 tsp curry powder spice
- 100 ml vegetable broth
- 400 ml coconut cream for cooking
- 1 handful fresh coriander
- 4 pcs naan bread
Heat the coconut oil in a pan, then sauté the finely chopped shallots and sliced garlic until golden. Add the spices (chili, cumin, black cumin, ginger, turmeric, curry) and let their aroma release.
Stir in the rinsed red lentils, pour in the vegetable broth, and cook over very low heat. Once the lentils have absorbed the broth, add the coconut cream and continue cooking. The total cooking time for the lentils is approximately 15-20 minutes.
Finally, season the dhal with salt to taste and stir in the chopped fresh coriander. Serve with warm naan bread.
