- 800 g apples
- 50 g lemon
- 5 pcs cloves
- 2 pcs cinnamon sticks
- 2 pcs star anise
- 100 g sugar
Steps
- 1Peel the apples, core them, and cut them into wedges depending on their size. Place them in a pot, drizzle with lemon juice, and pour in 700 ml of water. Add the sugar, cinnamon, star anise, cloves, lemon zest, and a slice of lemon. Cook over low heat for about 20 minutes, until the apples soften. Once cooled to lukewarm, you can serve it.
- 2Only use the yellow part of the lemon peel, the white part is bitter. The apples are good when they are soft but not overcooked. The lemon juice is needed to prevent the apples from browning.
