Ingredients
- 25 pcs fresh strawberries
- 1 kg soft fatty cottage cheese
- 120 g butter (melted)
- 60 g powdered sugar
- 4 pcs eggs
- 5 tablespoons sour cream
- Pinch of salt
- 600 g fine pastry flour + flour for shaping the dough
Steps
- 1Place the cottage cheese in a large bowl, add a pinch of salt, egg, and flour, then knead thoroughly. The dough should not be too soft, so add more flour if necessary. Let it rest in the refrigerator for about 15 minutes.
- 2Bring salted water to a boil in a large pot. Wash the strawberries and remove their stems. If they are large, you can cut them into smaller pieces.
- 3On a floured cutting board, tear off pieces of dough about 4 cm in size, then flatten them. Try to make them roughly the same size. Place one (drained, dried) strawberry in the center of each dough piece and carefully form them into dumplings. Press the dough firmly around the strawberry. Immediately place the dumplings into the boiling water and cook them for 6 minutes.
- 4Remove the dumplings from the water with a slotted spoon or sieve. Pour sour cream over them, sprinkle with powdered sugar, and drizzle with melted butter.
- 5Press the dumplings very thoroughly, because if the dough is torn anywhere, the dumplings will fall apart. Do not cook the dumplings for too long, so that the strawberries do not fall apart inside and do not become too soft. You can sprinkle the dumplings with grated hard cottage cheese or plain yogurt.
