Ingredients
- 8 pcs chicken wings
- 8 pcs bone-in chicken thighs
- 400 ml dry white wine
- 200 g lemon
- 2 heads garlic
- 1 pc red chili pepper
- 8 sprigs thyme
- 12 tbsp olive oil
- 8 tbsp red wine vinegar
- 8 tbsp honey
- 4 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 pc orange zest
- Freshly ground pepper
- Salt
- Rice
Steps
- 1Wash the lemon thoroughly under warm running water, then cut it into 16 slices. Halve the garlic heads lengthwise, and do the same with the chili pepper.
- 2Cut off the tips of the wings, then cut them in half along the joints. Open up the meat along the bones and season with salt and pepper.
- 3Heat the oil in a high-sided pan over medium heat, and sear the meat on both sides for 3-3 minutes until golden brown.
- 4Turn up the heat to high, and add the garlic to the meat, cut side down. Then add the thyme, lemon slices, chili pepper, red wine vinegar, wine, and orange zest. Bring the wine to a boil. Add 400 ml of water, honey, and soy sauce. Mix, cover, and simmer over low heat.
- 5Serve with steamed rice. You can use boneless chicken thighs.
