Preparation method
In a small saucepan, heat the milk with the cinnamon, chili, and the scraped seeds from the vanilla pod. Keep it just below boiling point.
Add the finely broken dark chocolate and let it melt completely while stirring continuously. The mixture should be smooth and velvety.
Sweeten with maple syrup. Taste it: the chili should only be subtly present so it doesn't overpower the chocolate flavor. If you like more heat, you can add another pinch. Finally, stir in the cream.
Chef's tip
For an even creamier result, you can use fattier milk or even prepare it with plant-based milk.
