    Place the eggs in a small saucepan in a single layer. Pour enough cold water over them to cover them by at least 5 cm.

    Bring the water to a boil, then cook for exactly 1 minute. After that, remove from heat, cover with a lid, and let stand for 12 minutes.

    After 12 minutes, immediately transfer the eggs to ice water to stop the cooking process and make them easier to peel.
Tip
This method works for any number of eggs; the key is that they are in a single layer and generously covered with water.
