Preparation method
Preheat the oven to 160 °C. Grease a 26 cm cake tin with butter, line it with baking paper, then grease the paper with butter as well. Sprinkle the bottom with 3 tablespoons of granulated sugar.
Peel the pears, remove the core, and cut them into sixths. Arrange them evenly on the bottom of the cake tin.
Cream the remaining butter with the remaining sugar until fluffy, then add the eggs one by one. Sift in the flour, baking powder, and ground ginger, then mix thoroughly. Finally, pour in the milk and work the batter until smooth. Pour the mixture over the pears and smooth the top.
Chef's tip
Use ripe, soft pears for the best results.
Instead of pears, you can also make it with apples, plums, or berries.
For a perfect baking paper lining, cut out a circle for the bottom of the tin and a strip for the sides.
