Ingredients
- 250 ml whole milk
- 200 g powdered sugar
- 50 g butter
Preparation
- 1Pour the milk into a non-stick pot, add the powdered sugar and butter. The non-stick coating is important to prevent the mixture from burning to the bottom of the pot.
- 2Start heating the mixture over medium heat, stirring constantly until the sugar and butter are completely melted.
- 3Once the mixture starts to simmer, reduce the heat. Continue to cook over low heat, stirring constantly for about 15–20 minutes, until the mixture thickens. Remember that it will thicken further as it cools.
- 4Pour the finished condensed milk into a clean jar and let it cool completely. Store in the refrigerator until use.
Tip
If you want an even thicker consistency, cook it for a few more minutes, but be careful, as overcooking can cause it to caramelize.
