Preparation method
Melt the butter, then let it cool for about 30 minutes. Preheat the oven to 170 °C and line two large baking sheets with parchment paper. Mix the melted butter with the sugar, vanilla powder, vanilla extract, and egg.
In another bowl, mix the flour with salt, baking powder, and baking soda, then add the matcha powder. Using a spatula, fold the dry ingredients into the butter mixture. Do not beat, just gently mix. Finally, fold in the chopped white chocolate or chocolate chips.
Using an ice cream scoop, form balls from the dough (you will get about 15 pieces). Place the balls on the baking sheet, leaving enough space between them as they will spread. Decorate the tops with extra chocolate pieces, then bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes.
