INGREDIENTS
- 50 dkg flour
- 2 dl milk
- 4 dkg powdered sugar
- 3 dkg yeast
- 4 pcs egg yolks
- 6 dkg butter
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 pc lemon
- 1 pinch salt
- Oil
PREPARATION
- 1Sift the flour into a large bowl, make a well in the center, and pour in the lukewarm milk.
- 2Add half of the powdered sugar to the milk, then crumble in the yeast, and add the remaining powdered sugar.
- 3Add the egg yolks, melted butter, vanilla extract, and salt. Mix thoroughly and knead until the dough is smooth.
- 4Cover with a kitchen towel and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, until it doubles in size. Once risen, roll out the dough on a floured surface to a thickness of 1-1.5 cm, and cut out circles. Leave a few cm distance between them, cover them and let them rise for another 15 minutes.
- 5In a pot or deep pan, heat enough oil so that it reaches halfway up the doughnuts, but they don't touch the bottom during frying.
- 6Press down the center of the doughnuts (or you can make a hole), and place only a few at a time into the oil, pressed side down, then cover.
- 7Once one side is golden brown, flip them over and, with the lid removed, fry the other side. Place the fried doughnuts on paper towels to absorb the oil, then serve with powdered sugar and jam to taste.
