Preparation method
Peel the potatoes and cut them into thin slices. Place them in a large pot, pour in the milk and cream, then season with salt. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and cook for 3–4 minutes. The potatoes should soften but not fall apart. Remove from heat, add the crushed garlic, and leave in the pot.
Preheat the oven to 180 °C, and prepare an approx. 20x30 cm baking dish.
Cut the bacon into small cubes, and render its fat in a pan over medium heat. Add the fried bacon to the potatoes in the pot.
