Ingredients
- 2 medium red onions
- 3 cloves garlic
- 2 medium carrots
- 150 g celery stalks
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 400 g ground turkey meat
- 30 g tomato paste
- 1 tbsp dried oregano
- 1 tbsp dried basil
- Juice of 1 large lemon
- 400 g peeled chopped canned tomatoes
- salt to taste
- black pepper to taste
- 400 g dry spaghetti pasta
- Parmesan cheese for serving
Steps
- 1Peel and finely chop the red onion and garlic. Clean the carrots and cut them into small cubes. Wash the celery stalks and also dice them finely.
- 2In a deep pan, heat 3 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion, garlic, carrots, and celery stalks, then sauté for 3-4 minutes. Then add the ground turkey meat and sauté for another 8-10 minutes over medium heat. Stir in the tomato paste, oregano, dried basil, lemon juice, salt, and pepper, then sauté for another 3-4 minutes. Finally, reduce the heat, pour in 150 ml of water and the chopped canned tomatoes. Cook the sauce covered for 20-25 minutes.
- 3After the cooking time, taste the sauce and season with more salt and pepper if needed.
- 4Serve the finished Bolognese sauce with cooked spaghetti and Parmesan shavings. The sauce is excellent for freezing and can be stored in the freezer for up to 6 months.
