INGREDIENTS
- 3/4 cup (170 g) butter or plant-based butter alternative
- 3/4 cup (100 g) powdered sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 ¼ cups (270 g) flour
- 1 tablespoon ground almond (optional)
- ½ tsp. baking powder
- ½ tsp. salt (if butter is salted, omit)
- 1½ tsp. spirulina powder
- Large handful of almonds (halved or whole)
- 1 tbsp. strawberry jam (for bloody decoration)
PREPARATION
- 1Mix the wet ingredients, then add the dry ingredients, and let the dough rest in the refrigerator for half an hour.
- 2Then form cylinders from the dough, and where necessary, press in the sides and cut wrinkles into the rods for a realistic finger effect (this 'play-dough' part will be the children's favorite).
- 3Place the almonds in the nail positions and bake the witch fingers for fifteen minutes.
- 4Decorate the nail beds with strawberry or raspberry jam, and dip the fingertips as well.
- 5Serve the terrifyingly cool cookie platter as the star of your costume party – your guests will surely lick all ten (their own) fingers afterwards!
