Cut the mozzarella into sticks about 1 cm thick. Beat the eggs with a little salt, and mix the breadcrumbs with the Italian spice blend.
First, coat the cheese sticks in the egg, then in the seasoned breadcrumbs. Place them in the freezer for 30 minutes. After that, repeat the breading process: coat them again in egg, then in breadcrumbs. It is important to press the breadcrumbs firmly onto the cheese so that it does not melt out during frying. Return them to the freezer for another 1 hour.
Meanwhile, prepare the dip. Mix the sour cream with the ketchup, crushed garlic, and the smoked paprika. Season with salt to taste, and add the chopped chili and basil. Refrigerate until serving.
