  • 4 pcs Pickolino hot dogs
  • 4 pcs hot dog buns
  • 1 pc red onion
  • 240 g sauerkraut
  • 4 pcs gherkins

  • black pepper to taste

Instructions

    Preheat the grill or a pan to medium heat.

    Heat the olive oil in a pan, add the finely chopped red onion, and sauté until translucent, soft, and lightly golden brown.

    Add the sauerkraut to the onion, season with salt and pepper, then sauté for a few minutes until thoroughly heated.

    Grill the hot dogs for about 7 minutes, turning frequently, until evenly cooked through.

    Meanwhile, slice the hot dog buns in half and toast them on the grill or in a dry pan until lightly golden brown.

    Place the grilled hot dogs into the buns. Pile the onion and cabbage mixture on top, then garnish with mustard and sliced gherkins to taste.

Tip
For an even more authentic taste, use brown mustard or add a little chili to the cabbage.
