- 4 pcs Pickolino hot dogs
- 4 pcs hot dog buns
- 1 pc red onion
- 240 g sauerkraut
- 4 pcs gherkins

- 2 tbsp olive oil
- mustard to taste
- salt to taste
- black pepper to taste
Instructions
- 1Preheat the grill or a pan to medium heat.
- 2Heat the olive oil in a pan, add the finely chopped red onion, and sauté until translucent, soft, and lightly golden brown.
- 3Add the sauerkraut to the onion, season with salt and pepper, then sauté for a few minutes until thoroughly heated.
- 4Grill the hot dogs for about 7 minutes, turning frequently, until evenly cooked through.
- 5Meanwhile, slice the hot dog buns in half and toast them on the grill or in a dry pan until lightly golden brown.
- 6Place the grilled hot dogs into the buns. Pile the onion and cabbage mixture on top, then garnish with mustard and sliced gherkins to taste.
- 7Serve immediately.
Tip
For an even more authentic taste, use brown mustard or add a little chili to the cabbage.
