Ingredients overview
- 6 pcs wheat tortillas
- 200 g cheddar cheese
- 250 ml semi-skimmed milk
- 30 g butter
- 2 tbsp fine wheat flour
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- jalapeño pepper (to taste)
- 2 pinches ground sweet paprika
- 1 pinch ground nutmeg
- 2 pinches ground black pepper
- 2 pinches table salt
- 1 pc parchment paper
Cut out bats or other Halloween motifs from the tortillas. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, brush lightly with olive oil, season with salt, and sprinkle with ground paprika. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius for about 15-20 minutes, until golden brown and crispy.
Meanwhile, melt the butter in a pan, mix it with the flour, and make a light roux. Pour in the milk and, stirring continuously, cook a thick béchamel sauce. Season with salt, pepper, and a little ground nutmeg. Finally, stir in the grated cheddar cheese and finely chopped jalapeño pepper to taste.
Serve the crispy Halloween chips with the warm cheddar dip.
