- 16 g sushi rice
- 20 g salmon fillet
- 1 pc wasabi paste
- 1 pc soy sauce
- 1 pc pickled ginger
Slice the salmon fillet thinly, perpendicular to the grain. Ensure the fish is fresh and of excellent quality.
Take a small amount (approx. 16 g) of cooked, cooled sushi rice in your palm and form it into an elongated cylinder. With your finger, place a little wasabi paste in the middle of the salmon slice, then place the rice on the fish and gently press them together to form the nigiri shape.
Serve the prepared nigiri with wasabi-flavored soy sauce and pickled ginger. The ginger helps neutralize the flavors between bites.
Chef's tip
Pickled ginger pleasantly neutralizes flavors and aids digestion. Always dip the sushi into the soy sauce with the fish side, not the rice, to prevent it from falling apart.
