Prepare a large pot with a steamer insert and steam the hot dogs for about 5 minutes until heated through. Alternatively, you can grill them on all sides.

Once the hot dogs are ready, place them into the split buns. Next to each, add a lengthwise sliced pickle and a few slices of fresh tomato.

Sprinkle the tops with finely chopped red onion, place 2-2 slices of jalapeño pepper on each, and if you have some at home, add a little pickle relish.
