BIFTEKI INGREDIENTS

  • 300 g ground beef
  • 120 g feta cheese
  • 50 g red onion
  • 2 leaves fresh mint
  • 1 egg
  • 1 slice toast bread
  • 5 leaves fresh parsley
  • 1/4 lemon, grated zest
  • 1 teaspoon fresh oregano
  • 1 pinch black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Preparation

    Cut the feta cheese into 6 pieces, approximately 5 cm long sticks.

    Finely chop the red onion, mint, parsley, and oregano. Place the toast bread in a bowl and pour 50 ml of water over it to soak. Add the chopped herbs, onion, a pinch of pepper, salt, grated lemon zest, egg, and ground beef, then thoroughly knead the mixture.

    Divide the meat mixture into 6 equal parts. Form an oval patty from each, place a cheese stick in the center, then wrap the meat around it and shape it into oval rolls.

    Place the biftekis on a medium-hot grill and cook both sides for 2-3 minutes until golden brown and juicy.
Tip
You can also substitute beef with ground lamb for an even more authentic taste. Serve with fresh tzatziki, cherry tomatoes, and thinly sliced red onion.

Tipp: A hús gyúrásakor ügyeljen rá, hogy ne dolgozza túl a masszát, így sütés után is szaftos marad. A feta sajtot érdemes alaposan körbezárni a hússal, hogy ne folyon ki sütés közben.
