The tomato is a member of the nightshade family and is native to South and Central America. Today, you can buy different types of special tomatoes all year round, such as small cherry tomatoes, slightly larger cocktail tomatoes, long, plum-shaped (mini plum, mini San Marzano) or pear-shaped tomato varieties, in bunches or individually packaged.

Use

They can be conveniently eaten with sandwiches or used as a garnish for dishes. Their colour can also vary greatly: in addition to the most common red berry colour, we also know varieties that ripen to pink, yellow, orange, brown and even green. 

Producer information

The  Granada La Palma is a trade union of producers and other workers in Spain. Their operation is cooperative in nature, their cooperative model is therefore organised along community interests and fits perfectly with the new interests of consumers. La Palma Cooperativa was founded in 1984 and since its establishment has grown to include around 150 producer members, with a turnover of over 10 million euros from fruit and vegetable cultivation. La Palma is a unique company that stands out in Europe for the production and marketing of cocktail tomatoes and speciality mini vegetables. 90% of their production is exported, primarily to Central European markets.
