- 600 g pork neck (4 slices)
- 400 ml whipping cream (min. 30%)
- 300 g Trappista cheese
- 150 g red onion
- 70 g butter
- 100 g canned sliced button mushrooms
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp curry powder
- 1 tsp sweet paprika + for sprinkling
- 1 tsp freshly grated nutmeg
- freshly ground black pepper
- salt
Steps
- 1Preheat the oven to 170 °C.
- 2Lightly pound the meat slices, then thoroughly salt and pepper both sides. Cut the red onion into approximately 0.5 cm thick rings. Grate the Trappista cheese coarsely.
- 3Grease a baking dish with butter, then cut the remaining butter into cubes and scatter them on the bottom of the dish. Place the meat slices on top, drizzle with soy sauce, then sprinkle with curry powder, sweet paprika, and freshly grated nutmeg.
- 4Layer the mushrooms over the meat, then the onion rings, and sprinkle the entire dish with the grated cheese. Pour the cream over it, sprinkle the top with a little paprika, and bake in the preheated oven for approximately 1.5 hours.
- 5Serve with steamed rice. Tip: For a more intense flavour, you can substitute part of the Trappista cheese with smoked cheese.
