The Pilisi wild sourdough bread presents everything that sourdough bread consumers look for with its traditional texture and natural character: a crispy crust on the outside, and a light yet substantial interior. The bread is made exclusively from flour, water, salt, and live wild sourdough, without the use of yeast or preservatives. The unique microflora of the wild sourdough – developed during long fermentation – provides a slightly sour, distinctive aroma and taste experience, as well as natural durability to the bread. The Pilisi wild bread reflects the meeting of international sourdough culture and Hungarian baking artistry: a hand-shaped, slowly matured, naturally composed product that simultaneously pays homage to traditions and sustainable, health-conscious nutrition.

About the brand

JÓkenyér is a Hungarian family bakery that has been working since 1995 to make traditional German bread and sourdough culture available in a natural, additive-free form in Hungary. Its founders brought the necessary sourdough culture from Baden-Baden, and since then, they have been milling their own rye and wheat in their own mill to ensure all their products are made from purely natural ingredients. Today, their facility operating in Pilisszentiván supports production with modern technology and advanced logistics, while every single bread and pastry still undergoes processes performed by human hands. The JÓkenyér team believes that quality is not a matter of compromise: the products contain no artificial additives, while their naturalness and rich flavor represent conscious nutrition and true enjoyment.
