INGREDIENTS FOR THE PASTA

  • 500 g spaghetti
  • Half a pack of spinach
  • 1 pack of sliced cheese
  • 2 pcs bell pepper
  • 12 pcs green and 4 pcs black olives
  • Salt

INGREDIENTS FOR THE SAUCE

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 can tomato puree
  • 800 g crushed tomatoes
  • 1 pack mozzarella
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 500 g minced meat

INGREDIENTS FOR COLORING THE PASTA

  • A handful of blueberries to color the pasta blue
  • 1 tablespoon turmeric to color the pasta yellow
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon to color the pasta orange
  • 4 tablespoons pickled beetroot to color the pasta red

PASTA PREPARATION

  • 1
Place half of the pureed spinach in a pot. You can also use frozen spinach, which will thaw in the boiling water. Pour water over the spinach (enough so that there is at least 5 cm between the spaghetti and the top of the pot). Salt it, then bring it to a boil.
  • 2
Add the spaghetti to the boiling water with the spinach puree, then cook for the time indicated on the package.
  • 3
Once the spaghetti is cooked, drain it. If spinach residues bother you on the pasta, you can rinse them off.
  • 4
From the sliced cheese, cut out 8 circles and 8 smaller triangles with a knife; these will be the monster's eyes and teeth. Cut out 8 smaller circles from the bell pepper, and halve the olives.
  • 5
Serve as shown in the picture. First, place a portion of pasta on the plate, then arrange the tomato sauce in a circle. The eyes will be made from cheese, topped with bell pepper, and then half a black olive. Arrange the green olives for the mouth, and the cheese cut-outs for the teeth.

SAUCE PREPARATION

  • 1
Chop the onion and sauté it in olive oil. After sautéing the onion, add the minced meat and chopped or crushed garlic. Stir until it turns white.
  • 2
Add the tomato puree and canned tomatoes, stir well and cover. Check every 3-4 minutes and stir thoroughly.
  • 3
Season with salt and pepper, then finally add the grated mozzarella.
Tip
The pasta can also be colored with natural dyes. If you add a few tablespoons of pickled beetroot to the spaghetti, it will turn reddish. You can make yellow pasta with ground turmeric. You can achieve a beautiful bluish-purple color by adding a handful of crushed blueberries to the boiling water. You can get orange-brown pasta by adding cinnamon.
