Description
The Gala apple was discovered around 1934 in New Zealand. A cross between the Golden Delicious and the Kidd's Orange Red apple, the Gala boasts a sweet flavor with hints of vanilla and a floral aroma. On the outside, Gala apples are round with a pale golden yellow base color covered in striped red blush. On the inside, these apples are crisp and firm with a slightly yellow to cream-colored flesh. They are an early season variety and tend to be a bit smaller in size than most other apple varieties, making them great for kids and snacking.

One large Gala apple contains about 10 mg of vitamin C, supporting the immune system and producing collagen for healthy skin and wound healing.
