Preparation method
In a bowl, mix the dry ingredients (flour, yeast, powdered sugar, salt). Pour in the lukewarm water and knead until you get a slightly sticky but elastic dough. Cover the bowl with a kitchen towel and let it rise in a warm place until it doubles in size (approx. 45 minutes).
Divide the risen dough into six equal parts. On a floured surface, roll out each piece into a flatbread about 3 mm thick. Place them on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and lightly floured. Let them rest on the baking sheet for another 15 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 250°C. Place the baking sheet on the bottom rack and reduce the temperature to 220°C (fan-assisted setting). Bake for about 4 minutes until the flatbreads puff up and start to lightly brown. Then flip them over and bake the other side for another 2-3 minutes.
Chef's tip
Before serving, it's worth filling them with fresh vegetables, roasted meat, or dipping them into creamy hummus.
