  • 250 g mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon capers
  • 2 pcs gherkins
  • 0.5 head red onion
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 pinch pepper

    Rinse the capers thoroughly, drain them, then chop them very finely. Grate the gherkins finely or cut them into small cubes. Peel and finely chop the red onion.

    Measure the mayonnaise into a bowl, add the prepared capers, gherkins, and onion. Season with lemon juice, a little sugar, salt, and freshly ground pepper.

    Mix everything thoroughly, then refrigerate for at least half an hour before serving to allow the flavors to meld. Tip: If you desire a richer flavor, you can mix in a finely chopped hard-boiled egg or a teaspoon of mustard.
