The parsnip belongs to the celery family and is a relative of the carrot. The root vegetable, which is native to Europe, is a real winter delicacy. It is less well-known in our country and is used less often, but it is worth trying, as it contains a lot of C, B1, B2 and B3 vitamins, calcium, phosphorus and iron. Its nutrient content is high, similar to that of carrots. It can also be used as an alternative to potatoes in cooking.

Interesting fact
It looks very similar to the white turnip, but if we put them side by side, we can see that their root size and leaves are different, and unlike the white turnip, its leaves are not edible, only its root is consumed. Parsnip is an all-purpose root vegetable, as it can replace carrots, parsley root and celery on its own.

- salad
- side dish for meat
- sauce
