A pljeskavica a régió egyik levnépszerűbb étele, amely marha- és sertéshús keverékéből készül, és a füstös ajvárral, valamint sült burgonyával tálalva válik igazán teljessé. Gyorsan elkészíthető, mégis különleges fogás, amely a kerti partik és a családi vacsorák sztárja is lehet.

Preparing the meat
In a large bowl, thoroughly combine the ground beef and pork. Add the finely chopped onion, crushed garlic, egg, breadcrumbs, paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper.
Knead the mixture by hand until it is completely uniform. If it seems too dry, add a little oil or water. Form 4 large patties, about 2 cm thick. If you want a cheese-filled version, place a slice of cheese in the center of the meat and fold the edges over to completely cover it.
Cooking and serving
Heat the grill or a pan to medium heat. If cooking in a pan, use a little oil. Cook both sides of the patties for 4-5 minutes until well done. Alternatively, you can bake them in a preheated oven at 200 °C for 15-20 minutes.
