Ingredients
- 250 g couscous
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp salt
Preparation
- 1Pour the couscous into a saucepan or a wider, shallow dish. Add the olive oil and salt, then mix thoroughly with a fork until the oil evenly coats every grain.
- 2Pour 400 ml of boiling water (or even better, hot broth) over the prepared couscous and cover with a tightly fitting lid. Let it rest for 5 minutes. It is important that it remains covered throughout and is not exposed to further heat.
- 3Fluff the softened couscous with a fork to make it light and airy. Serve warm as a side dish.
Tip
For an even richer flavour, use vegetable or chicken broth instead of water for pouring over.
