Preparation of the potatoes
Preheat the oven to 180 °C.
Cut the potatoes into slices about 4 mm thick. Place them next to each other on a baking tray lined with baking paper, and bake in the preheated oven for about 18 minutes until tender. Flip the potato slices halfway through the baking time.
Transfer the cooked potatoes to a bowl, season generously with salt, and serve with the freshly prepared garlic butter.

The baking time of the potatoes depends on the season and the type of potato. It is advisable to check for tenderness with a fork.
This dish is traditionally eaten by hand: guests spread the hot potato slices with garlic butter to their liking.
