Ingredients

  • 4 slices of rye bread
  • 100 g mayonnaise
  • 50 g butter
  • 1.5 tablespoon ketchup
  • 200 g sauerkraut
  • 1 tablespoon grated horseradish
  • 200 g beef ham
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 4 slices of cheese
  • A pinch of sweet paprika
  • Salt
  • Ground pepper

Steps

    Thoroughly mix the ingredients for the dressing, then add salt and pepper to taste.

    Spread butter on one side of the bread, and the dressing on the other side. On the side with the dressing, place 2 slices of cheese, half of the ham and cabbage, and drizzle with the remaining dressing. Cover with another slice of bread, buttered side up. Prepare the other sandwich in the same way.

    In a pan (or on a grill), cook the sandwiches on both sides until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
