- 8 slices toast bread
- 200 g sliced Edam cheese
- 8 teaspoons soft butter
- 1 glass dry white wine
Lightly butter both sides of the toast bread slices with soft butter. Place the Edam cheese slices on half of the slices, then cover them with the remaining bread slices.
Heat a pan over medium heat and place the prepared sandwiches in it. Cook for about 2 minutes until the bottom is golden brown and crispy.
Flip the sandwiches, cover the pan with a lid, and cook for another 2 minutes. The lid helps the cheese melt perfectly inside the sandwich while the bread turns golden brown.
Chef's tip
For perfect results, use a lid during the second half of cooking to ensure the cheese melts to a creamy consistency.
