Variety: Hayward
Kiwi is native to Central and Eastern China, with its first recorded description dating back to the 12th century during the Song Dynasty. In the early 20th century, its cultivation spread to New Zealand, where the first commercial orchards were established. The fruit became popular among British and American servicemen stationed in New Zealand during World War II, and was later widely exported, first to Great Britain and then to California in the 1960s.
