Ingredients
- 1.5 kg mixed smoked meat
- 20 dkg pearl barley
- 1.5 kg sauerkraut
- Sour cream for serving
- Fresh sourdough bread for serving
Steps
- 1Place half of the cabbage in the bottom of a large pot and sprinkle with half of the pearl barley.
- 2Add half of the meat on top of this, then repeat this once more, but leave some cabbage for the top.
- 3Then pour in enough water to cover it and simmer until tender on the stove, or even better, in the oven or a traditional oven, for about 2-3 hours.
- 4When serving, take a mix of everything.
- 5You can also use smoked sausage if you like. Instead of pearl barley, it can also be made with beans.
