Alnatura organic couscous

Couscous is made by steaming whole grain semolina, forming it into balls, and then drying it. It is perfect for quick meals, as it only takes about five to ten minutes to rehydrate. Couscous is a classic in oriental cuisine, great as a flavorful side dish, but also in soups, salads, and casseroles. Alnatura couscous comes from organic farming.

Serving suggestion - Lukewarm couscous salad with white beans

Preparation time
10 minutes plus 10 minutes cooking time, then 10 minutes swelling time.

Ingredients
For 3 servings:

• 240 g Alnatura white beans (in a jar or can)
• 10 stems of basil
• 1 medium red bell pepper
• 20 g Alnatura pine nuts
• 150 g Alnatura couscous
• 180 g Alnatura paprika-chili cream
• 300 ml water (hot)

Preparation

1. Pour the beans into a sieve, rinse with running water, and let drain. Wash the basil, shake dry, pluck the leaves and cut into fine strips. Wash, quarter, and seed the bell pepper, and cut into fine cubes.
2. Toast the pine nuts in a pan without fat over medium heat for 8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until golden brown and aromatic. Remove and let cool.
3. Divide the couscous among the 3 glasses, layer with beans, chili cream, and bell pepper. Close the jars and keep cool until ready to eat. Store the pine nuts and basil separately.
4. Before serving, bring the water to a boil, add 100 ml to each glass, close the lid and let the salad swell for 10 minutes. Then shake thoroughly and serve lukewarm, sprinkled with pine nuts and basil.
