Gyermelyi Whole Wheat Spaghetti

The most popular Italian pasta type. It goes well with both creamy and chunky sauces.

PINEAPPLE AND CHILI CHICKEN PASTA SALAD

Ingredients

• 250 grams Gyermelyi Whole Wheat Spaghetti,
• 2 red onions,
• 200 g peeled fresh pineapple,
• 2 chili peppers,
• 2 limes,
• 2 carrots,
• 1 bell pepper,
• thumb-sized ginger,
• 2 tablespoons chopped parsley,
• 2 tablespoons chopped coriander,
• 0.5 dl sesame oil,
• 1 dl tomato juice,
• 5-6 tablespoons sweet chili sauce,
• hot chili sauce to taste,
• salt,
• any salad mix for serving,
• 300 g grilled chicken meat shredded.

Preparation

Cook the pasta in salted, boiling water and rinse. Cut the red onion into thin slices, the pineapple into small pieces. Cut the chili peppers in half, remove the seeds and slice thinly. Grate the ginger and the lime zest, squeeze out the juice. Cut the bell pepper in half, remove the seeds, and slice thinly, cut the carrots into thin slices. Mix the tomato juice, chili sauces, lime juice, grated zest, ginger, chopped chili, salt, and sesame oil. Mix thoroughly. Add the chopped vegetables, pasta, and chicken meat. Toss, let it rest for 30 minutes, then serve with any fresh salad leaves.

It all started on January 21, 1953, when twelve farmers from Gyermely, unable to bear the increasingly impossible burdens of individual farming, formed the Petőfi Cooperative. In 1970, the government decided to build a pasta factory and was looking for a location. Gyermely's reputable cooperative undertook the task and was given the opportunity. This is how Gyermelyi Zrt. was founded.
