Rapunzel bioSnacky Sprouting Starter Kit (Glass Jar + 4 Types of Seeds)
Nowadays, growing sprouts at home is very fashionable, which is no wonder, because the small shoots are full of valuable nutrients, and it is also a great pastime for the whole family to follow their growth. However, sprouting is not a new invention: sprouts were mentioned in Chinese texts as early as the 3rd century BC.
With the bioSnacky sprouting kit, everyone can easily grow sprouts on the windowsill. The seeds from controlled organic farming guarantee consistently high quality and optimal growing results.
The package contains
- 1 glass sprouting jar with lid
- 4 packs of sprouting seeds (1 alfalfa, 1 mung bean, 1 radish, 1 fitness seed mix)
The material of the jar: environmentally friendly glass and polypropylene lid, which is free of cadmium, formaldehyde and bisphenol. Easy to clean, also dishwasher safe.
Sprouting process
Soaking
Put the seeds to be sprouted in the jar, rinse thoroughly with water. Screw the filter onto the jar and soak for the desired time (6-12 hours).
Sprouting
Turn the jar upside down with the lid on so that the water can drain out, then place the sprouting jar in a bright but protected place from direct sunlight. Rinse the seeds regularly (daily) with water. The ideal temperature for sprouting is 18-22 °C.
Consumption
The sprouts can be consumed immediately after thorough rinsing. Can be stored in the refrigerator for 2-3 days.
Cleaning
Hygiene is very important when sprouting, so always clean the sprouting equipment thoroughly after use. It is most effective to use fruit vinegar and a soft brush. After cleaning the appliance in the dishwasher, rinse it with clean water.
Did you know?
- Fresh sprouts are foods containing many vitamins, minerals and trace elements and can be used in many ways. Can be consumed on bread, wrapped in a wrap, or with hot meals, in muesli, in a smoothie.
- The volume of the sprout that has emerged from the seed can increase up to 15 times, so it is enough to sprout a small amount in the jar at a time so that each seed has enough air and space.
- Use a glass or ceramic container to store the washed and drained sprouts, lined with paper towels to absorb any remaining moisture. Close the lid of the storage container tightly so as not to restrict airflow.
- Fluffy roots may appear on some types of sprouts. These small white roots are sometimes confused with mold. Perform a smell test: mold has a musty odor, while the seed has a fresh or, depending on the variety, a very strong odor.
- Slimy seeds such as cress and arugula and wheatgrass are not suitable for sprouting in a jar. Use a sprouting bowl for this.
