Kotányi Bourbon Vanilla Bean

The real Bourbon vanilla bean has an irresistibly soft, sweet-spicy scent. Cut open a Kotányi Vanilla Bean and scrape out the tiny, black seeds rich in essential oils and aromas.

Suggested use

Perfect flavor for puddings, compotes, doughs, pastries, milk drinks, hot chocolate and liqueurs. It also goes well with rich savory dishes (meats, fish and vegetables).

Vanilla ice cream

Ingredients for 500 ml of ice cream:

• 250 ml milk,
• 250 ml cream,
• 4 egg yolks,
• 1 Kotányi Bourbon Vanilla Bean,
• 50 g granulated sugar.

Preparation:

1. Cut the vanilla bean in half lengthwise and scrape out the seeds.
2. Mix the milk with the cream and the scraped vanilla seeds and bring to a boil.
3. Beat the egg yolks with the sugar until fluffy, then gradually add the milk-cream mixture over a water bath and thicken.
4. Let cool, strain and cool in an ice cream maker while stirring continuously until the ice cream consistency is reached.
