Prickly pear is the fruit of the prickly pear cactus, which is native to South America, the USA, Africa, but is also grown in Spain, Italy and Greece.
Like other exotic plants, this plant also contains a lot of vitamin C, provitamin A, essential amino acids and minerals. It can stabilize blood sugar levels, so it is also recommended for diabetics.
On the outside, it is covered by a rough and hard skin that is purplish, greenish in color. Inside, there is a reddish fruit flesh. Its taste is sweet.

Use
Peel it, but be careful, because it can be prickly, so it is advisable to wear kitchen gloves while doing so. Only the inner flesh is suitable for consumption, so be sure to remove the skin. Cut the peeled fruit into slices and serve as a fruit salad with several other fruits.
