Producer information

Kőröstej Kft. was founded in 1991 and has since become Hungary's largest cheese producer and one of its most significant food exporters. The number of its employees exceeds 1000.

Every year, they process more than 110 million liters of excellent quality milk, sourced exclusively from Hungarian dairy farms, in their plants in Barcs, Hajdúböszörmény and Kőröstetétlen, while in Kacsóta, Baranya county, they produce processed cheeses. The company produces 40,000 tons of cheese per year, which is equivalent to almost half of Hungarian cheese consumption.

The Hajdú brand is the flagship of the Kőröstej group. The name has a long history in the Hungarian dairy industry, as the Hajdú County Dairy Company, founded in 1957, was one of the largest Hungarian dairy companies until the transformation following the change of regime. Thus, the "Hajdú" brand name has been a household name in Hungary for more than 50 years.
