Chestnuts are high in minerals, energy and fiber, they contain a lot of carbohydrates, including 17-25% starch. Chestnuts contain only a very small amount of fat and no cholesterol at all.

Interesting facts

In terms of vitamins, it contains the most vitamin C, E and B1, B2 and B6, some niacin and pantothenic acid. Of the minerals, potassium, phosphorus, calcium, magnesium, and of the trace elements, iron, zinc, manganese and copper are found in significant quantities.

Use

Sweet chestnuts are usually roasted or made into a puree - and it's worth it.

Store in a dry, cool place between 0-4 °C.
