Description

You're reading an Auto-translation.

Kapia pepper is a bright red, thick-fleshed, firm pepper variety. It is not prone to wilting and retains its firmness for a long time. It owes its unique taste and flavor to its high sugar content. An excellent choice for grilling and making stuffed peppers.

Interesting fact

It contains large amounts of vitamin A, vitamin B, vitamin C and K, potassium, manganese, magnesium, and iron.

Uses

It is the best salad pepper because it is fleshy yet tender, extremely sweet and flavorful, with a strong and fresh peppery taste. Paired with red tomatoes, onions, cucumber slices, and sunflower oil, seasoned with salt, you can make a traditional Balkan summer salad, which goes wonderfully with freshly baked bread dipped in the vegetable-oil dressing.

Delicious roasted pepper spread is a must-have for breakfast! Make it yourself!

Ingredients

  • 25 Kapia peppers
  • 1-2 cloves of garlic
  • 0.5 dl olive oil
  • salt to taste
  • fresh parsley
  • a few drops of lemon juice

Preparation

  1. Place the peppers on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake in an oven preheated to 220 °C. Once they start to char, turn them over so both sides get some color.
  2. Place the finished peppers in a plastic container and cover so the skin softens and becomes easy to peel.
  3. Peel the skin off the peppers and remove the seeds.
  4. Blend the peppers with the garlic and olive oil until smooth, season with salt, lemon juice, and finely chopped parsley.
