A variety of red onion with dark purple skin surrounding its white flesh. It is a milder, slightly sweeter alternative to the yellow onion.

Interesting facts

One of our oldest cultivated plants, this spice plant originating from Asia is grown and consumed almost everywhere in the world. It is very low in calories. Red onions have been used for medicinal purposes both externally and internally for centuries.

Uses

It can be used primarily to flavour soups, stews and meat dishes, but it can also be used to make independent dishes and can be added to salads, cold dishes and pickles in many ways. French onion soup or fried onion are piquant dishes that do not have a strong smell at all, so they can be consumed without hesitation.

Store in a dry, cool place between 5-10 °C.
