Recipe: American pancakes
Ingredients
285 g flour, 1 tsp baking powder, half tsp Horváth Rozi baking soda, 1 tsp salt, 1 tbsp sugar, 2 eggs, 340 g buttermilk (or yoghurt), 225 g sour cream, 4 tbsp melted butter.
Preparation
- Mix the dry ingredients in a bowl. Separate the eggs, beat the egg whites until stiff.
- Mix the egg yolks, buttermilk, sour cream until smooth, then carefully add the melted butter.
- Gently fold the egg whites into the buttermilk mixture, then quickly add the dry ingredients.
- Heat a little oil or butter in a pan and measure a small ladleful of the dough onto it. Spread it out, then fry for 2-2 minutes on each side.
- Traditionally served hot with maple syrup and butter, but also excellent with fresh fruit, honey, chocolate.
