Regarding its ripeness, the product may still be slightly greenish, but this is natural for this variety and it will ripen further in a few days.

Summer is here, apricot season is here!  Depending on the variety, it can be pale yellow, orange, or reddish in color, a fruit with a thin, velvety skin, and juicy.

Interesting facts

The antioxidants found in apricots help the body combat the harmful effects of environmental toxins and sun exposure, and they also have a beneficial effect on eye health. Their vitamin C and fiber content is very high, which helps remove excess cholesterol. 

Usage

The fruit can be consumed raw or squeezed into juice. When dried, similar to plums, it retains all its mineral and vitamin content. It can be made into compote, jam, or preserves, and is also suitable for use after freezing, in addition to traditionally being used for making pálinka.

Producer information

The fresh apricots are supplied by Bács-Zöldért from Kecskemét, a company with over 65 years of history. They have established Hungary's largest plantation, spanning 200 hectares, where nearly 2000 tons of premium quality, domestically grown fruits and vegetables are produced. The Kecskemét producer combines traditional horticultural knowledge with the latest agricultural scientific achievements, which is evident in the outstanding quality of the fresh produce from the very first bite.
