Description
Also known as aniseed. Its taste and smell are similar to anise. It has appetite-enhancing, carminative, antispasmodic, and lactogenic effects.
Interesting fact
It got its name from its strong aroma, similar to anise. When consumed raw, it has an intense flavor, but when cooked, it has a much milder taste. However, it is also significant due to its mineral salt, vitamin C, and carotene content.

Usage
Its seeds are cooked in soups and fish dishes, and its tuber is grated and added to coleslaw. It is one of our best anti-fermentation and anti-bloating medicinal plants.
