Pomelo is the largest citrus fruit, with a sour, juicy flesh and a membrane. The color of the fruit flesh can range from pale yellow to pink to red, its taste is sweet, similar to a mild grapefruit. It is a special blend of the sweetness of melon and the taste of citrus fruits, so it is especially recommended for gourmets.
Its health effects include stimulating blood circulation and high vitamin C content.

Interesting fact

Its name comes from the Malay word "pumpulmas". It probably arrived in China around 100 BC and is still a very popular fruit today.

Usage

With its sweet and slightly bitter taste, pomelo is a great morning refreshment, but it is also excellent as an afternoon wellness snack. It is not worth leaving it out when cooking either, as its special aroma can be the base of sauces, salads and marinades.
