Watermelon has many beneficial properties : it consists of 90% water, which makes it very filling despite being a low-calorie fruit. It has a remarkable mineral and vitamin content. (calcium, phosphorus, iron, sodium, potassium, manganese, magnesium, copper, zinc, cobalt and chromium, vitamin A, niacin, riboflavin, thiamine, folic acid and vitamin C) In addition, its high beta-carotene level helps the body produce melanin.
Watermelon is an excellent medicine for all kinds of feverish and inflammatory diseases. It owes its healing effect to its beta-carotene content, but its success is enhanced by the large amount of minerals it contains.

Interesting fact
A fruit native to Asia, there are many varieties, which differ in colour and taste. They are usually 15-25 cm in size and slightly elongated.

Watermelon has been grown in Szedres since 1991. Their cantaloupe is usually one of the first in Hungary. They grow the centro cantaloupe, as it is the most aromatic, spicy melon. It is free of pesticides and residues.
Use
It is usually eaten raw, on its own or as part of a fruit salad, and wrapped in Parma ham it is an excellent appetizer. Due to its high sugar content, it is recommended for diabetics to consume it only in small quantities.
Storage
Due to its extremely high water content (90%), it spoils easily, but it can be stored for about a week in the refrigerator's fruit compartment.
