Description
The popular red (or yellow) berry was known as a medicinal plant even in ancient times. This small fruit is very rich in nutrients. A handful of raspberries contains approximately 25 mg of vitamin C and also a lot of vitamins B1, B2 and A. It is rich in antioxidants and also contains dietary fibre, so we should eat as much of it as possible.

Interesting facts
The fruit, which is native to Hungary, has the popular Hungarian name "boldogasszony csipkéje" (Our Lady's lace) in certain parts of Transdanubia, and the name "himpér", based on the German word "Himbeere", which means "hindberry".
Due to its medium pectin content, thicker jam or preserves can only be made with a longer cooking time, by adding other fruits with a high pectin content or gelling agent.
