Thousands of varieties exist, and its uses are varied: you can consume it as a side dish, stew, salad, or in soup. The starch content of edible potatoes varies between 14-18%. In addition to nutrients, the potato's vitamin content is also worth mentioning; it mainly contains C, B1, and B2 vitamins. This food plant, native to South America, is cultivated worldwide for its starch-rich tubers.

Usage

A cooking potato, slightly floury. It cooks apart a little but still holds its shape, with a slightly floury or slightly waxy texture. It is recommended for potato stews, soups, as boiled potatoes in casseroles, for imperfect potato salads, and layered potato dishes.

The Szövetség az Élő Tiszáért (SZÖVET) was founded on June 29, 2006, in Nagykörű, and its court registration took place in March 2007. The initial membership of 38 has now increased to 70 (120 including the successful applicants of the Microfund). Their members primarily come from the areas of their 7 Sub-regional Action Groups (KACS). SZÖVET has action groups operating in Bereg, Bodrogköz, around the Kesznyéten Landscape Protection Area, in the Borsod Plain, in and around Nagykörű, in Nagy-Sárrét (in and around Túrkeve), and in Kis-Sárrét (in and around Biharugra). The Action Groups are in daily contact with local self-governments, farmers, and civil organizations. The Alliance aims to promote farming models that realize the sustainable coexistence of humans and the river: they are appropriate for the characteristics of the landscapes, enrich the rich diversity of life, and promote the well-being of people living in the region. The goal of their association is to improve the livelihood opportunities of those living in the Tisza River basin, increase flood and environmental safety, and preserve and enhance the ecological values of the Tisza, so that the inhabitants of this region can live in good quality of life and safety.
